PRENATAL CLASSES

FITNESS RX PRENATAL YOGA Prenatal yoga opens muscles of the pelvis, thereby reducing pressure on ligaments and easing lower-back pain.  Prenatal Yoga promotes flexibility, strength and stamina while releasing stress on joints.  The practice also provides tools to help with anxiety and fear during labor, and creates self-esteem in a group where women share their stories in a supportive and proactive environment.  Prenatal Yoga also sends the baby increased oxygen and endorphins. No previous yoga experience is required. Class will follow all guidelines of ACOG ( American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists). Yoga mat recommended. Available from the instructor: $25

New- MOM AND BABY YOGA (babies ages 6 weeks to crawling only please)

A Postnatal Yoga Workout with Your Baby- This class is designed to help new Moms recover from pregnancy and the birthing process by strengthening the body, restoring the mind, heightening the spirit, and increasing the bond between mother and baby.

By communicating through yoga, mothers can better understand baby’s needs and respond in ways which are soothing for both.

Mothers gain strength, energy, and centeredness during the most profound transition of a woman’s life. No previous yoga experience necessary.

Please bring a yoga mat and blanket.
