Amy Tranchida Amy brings 31 years of experience, a diverse dance background, and a great sense of humor to her classes.  She teaches twelve Ballroom and Latin dance styles, specializing in Salsa and Argentine Tango, and has been classically trained for 16 years in ballet, tap and jazz dance. In addition, she was a member of the Romeo Civic Ballet Company for 6 years, and an instructor at the Romeo Civic Dance Center for 6 years.  Amy has also studied and instructed African Dance at Prescott College in Prescott, AZ.  Additionally, she has taught Hatha Yoga for the past 20 years and is a member of the Yoga Association of Greater Detroit.  She holds her MFA in Creative Nonfiction from Goddard College, her BA in Creative Writing from Prescott College, and offers both private and group lessons, as well as various dance and writing workshops, in the Metro Detroit area.  She celebrates moments of discovery, explores the globe every chance she gets, and writes about what connects us all: LOVE.

Claudia Guerrero born in Mexico City has come to Michigan spreading the love and benefits of a healthy mind and body with her yoga, zumba and fitness instruction. Holding degrees in Tourism and Restaurant Management from Universidad de Valle de Mexico and Culinary Arts degree from School Craft College. She has worked for the past two years at the Aventura Spa Palace Resort in Playa del Carmen Mexico. She helped to build the fitness and yoga center into an important pillar of the stay of each guest .She has trained and practiced yoga for seven years and continues her education today with some of the top instructors around the world. Holding certifications from Yoga Alliance and Zumba Fitness her students have been inspired to make fitness fun and energetic by bringing her Latin heritage, music and rhythm to all of her classes.

 

Heather Toutant ~As a life long athlete, I understand the importance of fitness as it relates to overall wellness of being. I enjoy fitness in many forms, my 2 favorites are running and Zumba fitness. I have completed 7 marathons and numerous races at other distances. I am also very proud to have earned my Zumba Fitness certification this August. I have found a passion in dance ..... I am pleased to be working with Fitness Rx as well as other fitness clubs and organizations to share my love of Zumba Fitness .....

 

Hillary Abraham~ I was a special education teacher for children with severe emotional impairments for 6 years.  While teaching, I found the benefits of yoga had on myself as a teacher, and for the students I worked with.  While taking some time off to spend time with my own children, I  became RYT 200 certified through Yoga Now in Keego Harbor, MI.  …………..continues her passion for helping people by teaching several classes through Fitness RX.

Laura Mandernack  Laura is coming up on her 1 year anniversary as a certified Zumba instructor. She’s having a blast and in the best shape of her life! Laura mainly teaches Zumba-in-the-Circuit at two Curves locations. She is excited to have branched out by joining the Fitness Rx team and now teaches at a community organization as well. When she’s not teaching Zumba Fitness, Laura enjoys singing in the Livingston County Chorale and performing community theater with the Pinckney Players. She volunteers weekly at the Humane Society of Livingston County and is active on her neighborhood association board as well as the County Chorale board of directors. She appreciates the support she gets from her husband and her two sons! 

 

LISA DAVIS-ENGLISH

 

Happy to be joining the staff of Fitness RX, Lisa Davis-English, a freelance choreographer/dance teacher and musical theatre instructor, is a former performer of Theme Park and the Musical Revue show circuit. She holds a teaching degree in Speech Communication, Theatre and Dance from Indiana State University. She spent many years as the Head Choreographer/Show Director and Manager for Cedar Point Live Entertainment in Sandusky, OH  She has taught dance for over 20 years and has found a new love in teaching Dance Fitness with Zumba & Zumba Gold! Currently, you’ll find Lisa choreographing, teaching dance and Zumba for many schools, fitness centers, studios, and community organizations.

   

 

Karen is an Independent Contractor and has been teaching Yoga and Pilates classes with Fitness Rx since 1998.

 

 

Mary Carol Cinder Mary is ACE Certified as a Personal Trainer, Group Fitness Instructor and Lifestyles and Weight Management Consultant. She is an Independent Contractor and has been teach classes with Fitness Rx since 2002 that include Yoga, Pilates, and weight training.

 

 

Nancy Mullkoff joined Fitness Rx in 2010.  She received Bachelor’s of Science degree from Wayne State University and danced with the WSU dance company for many years.  Nancy has taught a variety of Physical Education and Dance classes, along with Biology and Health for over 30 years.  Nancy discovered her love for teaching Yoga 25 years ago while taking her first class called “Power Yoga”, ever since that moment she knew she wanted to teach all kinds of Yoga classes.  Nancy did her Yoga training with Yoga Shelter in 2010 and is RYT certified.  Nancy’s dance experience influences the way she creates her Yoga flows and designs her Fitness classes. Nancy loves teaching Yoga and Senior Fitness classes, and she practices Yoga everyday.  She believes, “we are as young as our spine is flexible, and that we determine our destiny through our thoughts, words, and actions.”
